AMMASSARE. Definiz: Far massa, Mettere insieme, Adunare. Lat. congerere, cogere, colligere, accumulare, aggerere. Gr. ἀμᾶν, συνάγειν. Esempio: Bocc. nov. 93. 15. Il quale non ad ammassar denari, come i miseri fanno, ma ad ispender gli ammassati, se' dato. Esempio: Franc. Sacch. rim. Cieco, è colui, che nell'aver si specchia, E che ben viver crede, quando ammasso. Esempio: Tes. Br. 7. 1. Secondo che l'uomo truova per molti savj, che tanto, quanto l'uomo ammassa, e aggiugne più di buone cose insieme, tanto cresce quello bene. Definiz: §. In signif. neutr. pass. Adunarsi, Congregarsi.
